Our Goal

Connecticut Hall of Change’s goal is to create a public forum that celebrates the growth and accomplishments of Justice-Involved Individuals through the creation of the first ever of its kind, The Connecticut Hall of Change. Upon returning home many of these individuals embarked on a restorative quest of redemption as they sought to improve the very neighborhoods they once violated. As a result, they have become a living testimony to the enduring human spirit of both forgiveness and hope.

Why Our Work Matters

The Connecticut Hall of Change brings visibility to stories that are often overlooked. By recognizing individuals who have rebuilt their lives and strengthened their communities, the program helps reduce stigma, encourages restorative pathways, and inspires others returning home. These stories show that transformation is possible and that second chances can create real, lasting change across Connecticut.

Reducing Recidivisum through Restorative Justice: Hang Time's Bold Strategy for Empowering Justice-Impacted Individuals and Driving Sustainable Change

Charlie Grady’s new book, Reducing Recidivism through Restorative Justice: Hang Time’s Bold Strategy for Empowering Justice-Impacted Individuals and Driving Sustainable Change, offers a deeply human look at transforming re-entry and community support. Drawing on the success of Hang Time, a grassroots program in Connecticut, the book illustrates how restorative justice principles can reduce violence and recidivism by fostering safe spaces, shared experiences, and community engagement. Through participant stories and real world examples, Charlie and co-author Dr. Vesna Markovic provide a practical framework for organizations, policy makers, and community leaders seeking more effective, dignity-centered approaches to justice reform. This volume highlights how empathy, connection, and community resources can change lives and strengthen communities long after incarceration.
