Dwight Davis

Hello my name is Dwight Davis. I lost my dad at a young age and that was the beginning of my battle with drug addiction and incarceration. I also became a Father at age 20. At the age of 33, my recovery process began. In that process I learned how to become a Man, a Dad and a Son. I've been clean and in long-term recovery now for over 30 years. I went back to school, recieved my college degree and worked in the substance abuse field for 17 years, of which I received numerous certifications and trainings. Today I am a Program Manager, for CT. Association for Human Services (CAHS), specializing in financial literacy, of which I am a Certified Financial Counselor. I facilitate workshops throughout the state of Connecticut. One of my biggest accomplishments is being able to go back into the Connecticut Department of Corrections (DOC) and facilitate financial literacy workshops in Manson Youth Institute (MYI) and recently the Carl Robinson Correctional Institution. I am also an entrepreneur with my own Car Service and Financial Literacy businesses. I've volunteered coaching basketball for the City of Norwalk, Junior Basketball Association (JBA) for over 20 years and also volunteered bringing recovery groups into the DOC facility in Bridgeport. I truly have a passion for giving back to our community in any way I can. My hobbies include playing golf, working out and traveling. This is truly an honor and a privilege to be nominated and accepted as one of the newest member of the Class of 2024 “Great 8”! Thank you &; God bless…
